Holotropic Breathwork is a powerful practice developed by psychiatrist Stanislav Grof and his wife Christina in the 1970s. It's designed to facilitate emotional healing, personal growth, and self-exploration by accessing non-ordinary states of consciousness through therapeutic breath and body work.
Our workshop will start with a preparation session on September 19th from 6:00 to 9:00 as we gather to learn more about the model, learn about Grof’s cartography of the psyche that informs the model, and meet your fellow participants.
During the breathwork session, September 20th from 9:00-8:00, each participant will have the opportunity to experience being “the breather” and “the sitter”. As the “breather” participants will experience the transformative potential of non-ordinary (sometimes called psychedelic) states of consciousness. As the “sitter” participants will have the opportunity to experience holding space for someone in these states of consciousness.
On September 30th from 6:00-9:00 we’ll gather again to discuss how to integrate these transformative experiences into everyday life.
This is a unique opportunity to experience this transformative process in a small group setting (limited to 18 participants) with facilitators who trained directly with Stan Grof. Admission to the workshop is by application and interview. This workshop may be of particular interest to those interested in training as psychedelic assisted psychotherapists.
Tuition for the workshop is 650$ and this includes meals and snacks on the day of the training. We look forward to sharing space with you.
