Stepping Up into Internal Family Systems Therapy.

We’re proud to announce the launch of Stepping Up into IFS. A comprehensive training in IFS for therapists new to the model and those wanting to enhance their practice of IFS through experiential training. Our lead trainer is Derek Scott, a certified IFS consultant, who has been teaching the model in Canada for several years. You can read more about Derek and his trainings at IFSCA.ca. Our training will pair online didactic training with Derek with in person teaching and supervised practice sessions with other trainers that will enhance your mastery of the skills and competencies in Internal Family Systems Therapy.

Program Materials

You will receive a 90-page course manual that supports the course and many videos of live IFS sessions that demonstrate the application of the IFS protocol. The videos are annotated so each intervention is clear.

Each didactic teaching session and consult group is recorded for your use alone and each of the four modules is accompanied by a teaching video outlining the key points.

Course Structure and Class Size

The course is broken up into four modules. Each module will contain:

Online Teaching Session – taught by Derek Scott

Supervised Practice Session – facilitated by a support staff person

Peer Practice Session – with fellow learners

Consultation Group – facilitated by Derek Scott or a senior support staff

Training Duration: 39 hours online, 17 hours in person = 56 hours of training total.

Cohort

This cohort is limited to 18 participants. Graduates of this training may refer to themselves as "IFS Informed Therapists".

Location

The Stepping Up course is a hybrid of online and in person sessions. Online sessions will take place on the Zoom videoconferencing platform and in person sessions will be held in a central location in London, Ontario (exact location TBD). There may be the possibility of a fully online cohort and a Toronto based cohort as well - please be in touch if you’re interested but not able to attend in London.

Attendance

Students must attend all the in person, online teaching/consultation sessions, and supervised practice sessions to graduate.

Online Teaching Session #1: Tuesday October 24th 6:00-9:00

In Person Facilitated Practice Session #1: Saturday October 28th 9:00-1:00

Online Peer Practice Session #1: Tuesday November 7th 5:30-8:30

IFS Online Consultation: Tuesday November 14th 5:30-8:30

Module 2:

Online Teaching Session #2: Tuesday November 21st 6:00-9:00

Online Facilitated Practice Session #2: Tuesday November 28th 5:30-8:30

Online Peer Practice Session #2: Tuesday December 5th 5:30-8:30

IFS Online Consultation: Tuesday December 12th 5:30-8:30

Module 3:

Online Teaching Session #3: Tuesday January 9th: 5:30-8:30

Online Peer Practice Session #3: Tuesday January 16th: 5:30-8:30

In Person Teaching/Facilitated Practice Session #3: Saturday January 20th: 9:30-4:00

IFS Online Consultation: Tuesday January 23rd: 5:30-8:00

Module 4:

Teaching Session #4: Tuesday February 6th 5:30-8:30

Online Peer Practice Session #4: Tuesday February 13th: 5:30-8:30

IFS Online Consultation: Tuesday February 27th: 5:30-8:30

In Person Facilitated Practice Session/Graduation: Saturday March 2nd: 9:30-4:30

CEs

IFS CEs are available and may only be used towards IFS recertification with the IFS Institute. *professional college CEUs are not available*

Admission Requirements:

Stepping Up is open to therapists, counselors, coaches, pastoral counselors, or other mental health professionals. You must be actively engaged in 1:1 work with clients to be able to practice and implement the teachings. Applicants are required to:

  • Be engaged in 1:1 work in a Mental Health Capacity

  • Be able to effectively participate in an English language training

  • Have a stable internet connection suitable for online training

  • Have a computer or tablet

  • Have a private environment to participate in the sessions

  • Be able to travel to London, Ontario for the in-person sessions

Registration

If you meet the above requirements, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to Blueprint Counselling ticketleap.

  2. submit your registration and make your tuition payment.

  3. You will receive a notification email from yourticket@ticketleap.com

  4. Once your registration has been reviewed you will receive confirmation of your enrollment from Blueprint Counselling.

  5. 2 weeks before the start of the course you will receive recommended readings and other resources.

  6. 2-3 days before the training you will receive the manual and schedule.

  7. You will receive Zoom links close to the start of the training. These links provide access to the training.

Tuition Investment

The total cost for the course is $1,750 + HST.

Payment of tuition in full is required to hold your spot.

To secure your spot, kindly note that payment is due by next Friday, October 6th.

Prices are in Canadian Dollars

The organizers are not responsible for credit card transaction fees charged by your bank.

Payment will be received via Ticketleap only. Ticketleap accepts all the usual forms of payment and adds a nominal processing fee.

Cancellation Policy

Registrations are non-refundable but may be transferred to another applicant meeting the admission requirements upon approval from the organizers.
