Counselling is a collaborative and relational process in which you are held as the expert of your own needs and experience. Your counsellor offers their skills, knowledge and experience as your partner in the process.


We are committed to authenticity, professionalism and integrity in our counselling work. Our approach is informed by the most recent evidence and integrates a holistic view of the person and their wellbeing.

Counselling Approaches

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy 

An empirically based psychological intervention that uses acceptance and mindfulness strategies, together with commitment and behaviour change strategies, to increase psychological flexibility. It helps people to embrace their thoughts and feelings rather than fighting or feeling guilty for them.

Narrative Therapy

Narrative therapy looks at the stories people carry about themselves and their problems and aims to collaboratively

re-create these stories in ways that will help people enact their values and achieve their goals. Narrative therapy also embodies social justice by challenging dominant discourses that are oppressive in people's lives. 

Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS)

IFS views people as a collection of parts with unique perspectives, desires and wounds and an underlying core self that is compassionate, courageous, calm, confident and creative. IFS works to facilitate a connection between those parts and that core self to enable its inherent capacity for growth and healing.

Gottman Method Couples Counselling

The goals of Gottman Method Couples Therapy are to disarm conflict; improve  communication; increase intimacy, respect, and affection; remove barriers that create a feeling of stagnancy in conflicting situations; and create a heightened sense of empathy and understanding within the context of the relationship.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

DBT works to help people live in the present moment, regulate their emotions, tolerate distress and increase their interpersonal effectiveness. DBT helps people simultaneously work toward both self compassion and making positive change to their behaviour that will improve their wellbeing.

Interpersonal Psychotherapy

IPT is rooted in the belief that psychological symptoms can be understood as a response to difficulties in interpersonal relationships. Treatment focuses on improving interpersonal functioning and increasing social support to address symptoms of anxiety and depression.
